President Alberto Fernández received this Monday the mayors of the Buenos Aires suburbs, who raised the need to maintain public works in the province and analyzed the problems in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Buenos Aires (AMBA), such as unemployment, poverty and inflation. , and other management issues.

The meeting was held this afternoon in the Eva Perón Room, on the first floor of the Casa Rosada, official sources reported.

The president was accompanied by the chief of staff, Juan Manzur; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Juan Manuel Olmos; the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa; and the general secretaries of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello; and of Knowledge Economy, Ariel Sujarchuk.

Representing the Government of the province of Buenos Aires were the Chief of Staff, Martín Insaurralde; the head of the Provincial Group, Gustavo Menéndez; and the Buenos Aires legislator Mariano Cascallares.

While the mayors of Ituzaingó attended, Alberto Descalzo; from La Matanza, Fernando Espinoza; by Florencio Varela, Andres Watson; of Pilar, Federico Achaval; of Avellaneda, Jorge Ferraresi; and from San Fernando, Juan Andreotti.

After the meeting, Barefoot told the journalists accredited at the Government House that they had informed the president of “the needs of the Buenos Aires suburbs, especially with regard to the social vulnerability of the cordon,” referring to “maintaining the public works that are are carrying out so that we can quickly continue with the growth and development that is taking place in the province of Buenos Aires”.

“What we have discussed and proposed has resulted in the Minister of Economy answering some things for us,” said the community chief, adding that “we will surely have a new meeting with him soon, so that these points that we have presented to the President, from each one of them, have an answer”.

These points raised “have to do with maintaining this growth and development that is taking place in the suburbs, which has to do with private and public investment, which the national, provincial and local governments have been developing, and in some way they have to to do with work, with unemployment in the province of Buenos Aires and our need to coordinate with the Nation, which is preparing next year’s Budget”.

“And together with the Government of the province we articulate with each one of the municipalities to deal with that poverty that exists in the province, that lack of work, and problems that have to do with inflation, we can go together working each one of the things we have to do,” he added

For his part, Watson explained that this meeting “comes as a consequence of a (meeting) that already took place in Almirante Brown”, on the 27th of last month, “in which the President agreed to convene another meeting” to analyze “these problems who come from the suburbs, specifically from the AMBA, whose parameter is social vulnerability and population density, which has a different situation from the rest of the districts”.

The mayor of Florencio Varela clarified that partisan issues “have not been discussed” because “we are concerned with the social problems in each of our people, we are not discussing political issues but management issues, which are the ones that interest us the most. right now”.

In that sense, Barefoot contributed that “there are different proposals that we made, we reiterate the agenda of the Buenos Aires suburbs, which has nothing to do with political situations.”

“We are more concerned about the commitment that each mayor has with the neighbors, something that we committed to three years ago and we have to carry out. We take into account the need for the agenda, the daily agenda of each one of the municipalities, and we don’t care about some political comment”, he referred after various statements made at the Frente de Todos over the weekend.

“We came here, we are happy because the President always receives us with great care and affection, and he takes into account what happens in the province of Buenos Aires. We are on that path and we really appreciate the way they serve us,” he concluded. the mayor of Ituzaingó.
