Medina took the title in the competition held at Itaúna beach after beating the Moroccan Ramzi Boukhiam by 13.67 points to 13.43 in the big decision.

After the conquest, the three-time world champion published a message on his social networks highlighting the fact that he was champion on the same stage where he suffered a knee injury that took him out of the last season of the elite: “In the same place where I got injured a few months ago back. Today raising the rewards of hard work, focus and determination to turn things around. Live the process and have faith. Life is too crazy! Let’s go, because the season is about to begin. Thank you all for the messages and cheering! Love you! The trophy stays at home.”

Among women, the highest place on the podium was American Alyssa Spencer, who beat French Tessa Thyssen by 12.90 points to 9.06.

The final stage of the Challenger Series will be played on Haleiwa Beach, Hawaii, between November 26 and December 7.
