During the organization’s customary press conference, the national secretary general of the Copei Christian Democratic Party, Juan Carlos Alvarado, endorsed the progress made by the reestablishment of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Colombia and our country.
“In this way, we salute what concerns the matter of reestablishing relations between our country and the sister nation of Colombia,” he stated according to a press release.
He stressed that the meeting held between President Nicolás Maduro and his Colombian counterpart Gustavo Petro to strengthen the commercial recovery for both nations was productive for both countries, including for the region.
“Today begins the process of normalizing air transport with both nations. Today the first flights are being carried out that will allow the start of the regularization of communications between both nations », he said.
Similarly, he referred to the eventual restart of the process of talks between the national government and a sector of the opposition. He stressed that it must put aside political interests and address the true needs of the Venezuelan population.
He reaffirmed that the citizenry, far from wanting political solutionskeeps its attention on the economic improvements that may arise from these meetings.
He added that it is necessary to resolve the differences between sectors to truly address the problems that affect Venezuelans.
Attention to the rains
He also expressed his solidarity with those affected by the rains in Anzoátegui state where, according to official reports, 07 people have died.
“We send our deepest condolences to the families who have been affected in recent days as a result of the weather catastrophe that is being lived in our Venezuela» he pointed out.
Alvarado explained that, from the party’s national leadership, they continue to issue instructions to the regional and municipal bases to address this reality.
