Cruise Season 2022-2023 gets off to a good start, Panama receives two ships

The Panama Cruise Terminal received two simultaneous ships after the start of the 2022-2023 Cruise season that runs from October to May, one of them is the Viking Star of the Viking Cruises company, which arrived from Puerto Limón, Costa Rica with 844 passengers who landed in our country to go to their destinations and embarked 689 and the other is the Norwegian Encore with approximately 2,500 passengers who landed in our country to make various excursions and then go to Cartagena, Colombia.

Only in the Panama Cruise Terminal there are 52 reservations, of which 22 are from the Base Port (Home Port) those in which there is a rotation / change of passengers, embarkation and disembarkation and 30 in transit (Port of Call) those in which passengers disembark for tours, excursions and/or purchases and return to the cruise ship.

The General Director of Ports and Auxiliary Maritime Industries of the Panama Maritime Authority in charge, Jonathan Guerini pointed out that “the works in the Cruise Terminal are 91% complete, only the maritime area is 100% complete and we estimate that the work will be completely finished by mid-2023.”

With the start of the cruise season, the economy is stimulated directly by generating income and fostering new job opportunities in the regions that are visited, it also boosts the image of the country and reinforces our position in the maritime, port and logistics sector. worldwide, one of the fundamental pillars of the Panamanian economy.
