Santiago – Judge Cirilo Salomón, of the Permanent Attention Office of the Judicial District of Santiago, imposed twelve months of preventive detention as a coercive measure on Simón Bolívar de los Santos Abreu Núñez, accused of killing his partner Themis Cruz Hernández.
The measure imposed by the judge is reviewable every three months. According to versions, Themis Cruz Hernández, who worked as a municipal police officer, was attacked by her partner Simón Bolívar, who then injected her with cocaine to simulate her death from an overdose.

Attorney Félix Porte represented the victim’s mother and six siblings at the hearing.
Outside the Palace of Justice, relatives and friends of Themis protested with banners in their hands and shouted slogans demanding that justice be done.
Themis Cruz Hernández died on Sunday, January 9, in a private hospital, after being admitted the day before with brain death, according to the report of the specialists who attended her, who also revealed that in the victim’s body there was a high amount of cocaine.
