Industry sector must join debates on Renewable Energy Law

The small and medium-sized industry, as well as the trade union and professional sector of the country must join the debates for the public consultation that is carried out on the Project of Law of Renewable and Alternative Energies, highlighted the president of the Permanent Commission of Energy and Petroleum, deputy Ángel Rodríguez.

In a note published by the National Assembly, Rodríguez stressed that “it is necessary to generate a debate where small and medium-sized industry is accommodated, as well as the different professional and union sectors of the country.”

“It is a law for the entire country and not for a particular group of the Venezuelan people,” he said.

He indicated that the Renewable and Alternative Energy Law Project is successfully advancing in its public consultation phase in the 23 states of the country and the Capital District.

In this sense, he stated that the commission has met three times to exchange ideas and proposals with the people.

He also called on all deputies to join this consultation process, to get organized sectors involved in this important mission.

Towards diversification

Parliamentarian Ángel Rodríguez considers that the Law on Renewable and Alternative Energies seeks to “diversify and create a new energy matrix in Venezuela, where our energy sources are expanded and we can get out of the extraction of fossil fuels that we have today.”

This regulation, continued the deputy, “will minimize the negative effects of climate change and promote industrial development in this field, in addition to the recruitment and training of skilled labor for this purpose.”

state work teams

He recalled that for the public consultation of the bill, it is carried out with the “formation of technical teams of state works, passing through general assemblies in the different states and municipalities of the country, in addition to the physical delivery of the law, so that the population can familiarize themselves with it and offer their contributions”.

To invigorate the consultation process, Deputy Rodríguez urged his parliamentary peers to activate the popular discussion with greater force, so that the Renewable and Alternative Energy Law goes to a second discussion for its definitive sanction.

Yaracuy: more than 14 assemblies

For her part, the deputy of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela-Yaracuy, Rosario Montaño, announced that a promotional team has been deployed from the entity to encourage the community to popular participation.

In this regard, he stressed that “more than fourteen popular assemblies have been held, where the benefits of the law and the impact it will have on the social and economic development of the nation were explained.”

He noted that “there is an automated system for the proposals of the participants to submit them for consideration by the commission.”

Like deputy Ángel Rodríguez, Montaño agrees that the law must involve all sectors of the country, in order to “make it more robust.”
