The president of the Court proposes that a single criminal type of femicide be implemented throughout the country.
Between December 2018 and September 2022, 3,771 femicides have been registered in the country. In the first nine months of this year, there are 695 deaths due to gender.
The municipalities that report the most femicides are:
-City Juarez Chihuahua.
-Juarez, Nuevo Leon.
-Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon.
-Morelia, Michoacan.
-Manzanillo, Colima.
-Chalco Valley, State of Mexico.
-Ecatepec, State of Mexico.
-General Escobedo, Nuevo Leon.
-Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
-Ensenada, Baja California.
President López Obrador has assured that his government combats violence against women. A few months ago he recognized that one of the crimes that had an increase is femicide.
It is in his administration that the highest number of femicides in a month has been recorded. This is August 2021 when 108 were reported, according to the gender violence report of the Executive Secretariat of the National Security System.
