COP27 in Egypt: former president Iván Duque will give closing speech of the event

The ex-president Ivan Duke is one of the special guests of the COP27 as an expert for several of the events associated with Climate Action and Nature Protection.

The one who was Colombian president between 2018 and 2022 will be in charge of giving the closing speech of the event of the Great Global Coalition for Conservation; this conference is known as the 30 x 30, which will present the Report on the Creation of the Carbon Market for Africawhich is advising.

It must be said that Iván Duque will give several lectures as ambassador of the Global Strategy for Conservation and will be present at several of the green finance events.

Similarly, Iván Duque will give interviews about his book The Road to Zero (The Path to Zero).

In this regard, the former president, within the framework of COP27, referred to the initiative for the development of carbon bonds in Africawhich intends to have a presence in 40 countries.

“We are launching tomorrow the report for the development of carbon credits in Africa where we have worked with a great coalition of public sector and private sector; we will be announcing a very important fund of resources for around 40 countries to develop carbon markets”, said Iván Duque.

About COP27, the main world leaders arrived this Monday in the Egyptian city of Sharm the Sheikh to start a summit that will be marked by the absence of the heads of state of some of the largest economies and most polluting countries on the planet, such as Russia or China.

More than a hundred heads of state and government -with some still to be confirmed-, attend the most important event on the planet on global warming and its effectswhich in this edition includes the loss and damage associated with climate change on its agenda for the first time.
