Different versions are offered by the dioceses of La Guaira and Guasdualito (Apure) regarding the death of the aspiring priest Jesús Francisco Delgado, whose body tied to ropes was located Tuesday afternoon at the facilities of the San Pablo Apóstol Seminary, located in Macuto, La Guaira.
The Diocese of La Guaira says that the seminarian’s decision to take his own life came “upon learning of a painful illness.” But the Diocese of Guasdualito (Apure), to which Jesús Francisco belonged, assured in a statement that “in the month of August of this year 2022, the physical examination and the clinical laboratory results did not show any type of serious illness. ”.
This information related to the health of the seminarian comes from the priest Ronny García, who is a doctor of the Diocese of Guasdualito, according to the statement.
“It should be noted that during the year, each seminarian undergoes a medical follow-up 3 times a year, which makes it possible to detect any alteration in the health of young people in priestly formation,” says the Diocese of Guasdualito.
In another statement, the ecclesiastical authorities of Guasdualito say that they are waiting for the results of the autopsy “in order to be able to inform the people in general in a timely manner.”
The deceased seminarian was 29 years old and in his fifth year. The wake of Jesús Francisco will begin this Friday in Guasdualito, in the house of his maternal grandparents and will conclude on Sunday in the cathedral of the aforementioned town in Apureño, says a statement.
