Hospital Covid de la Ciudad de la Salud is at its maximum capacity, there are only 4 beds available

Dr. Eduardo Heiva, director of the Covid Hospital of the City of Health, reported that the hospital is at its maximum capacity and they only have 4 beds available in the special respiratory care unit.

“We are making adjustments to be able to expand coverage. We have had many hospitalizations here due to the large number of infections that have been reported in recent days in the country, we are also activating more personnel,” he specified.

He revealed that they have 90 admitted patients, so they are working on increasing capacity to be able to receive more patients.

Due to the increase in Covid-19 infections, there has also been a drop in medical and health personnel, causing a decrease in work, for which the doctor indicated that work is being done to bring more colleagues to the team to expand capacity in both rooms.

Heiva stressed that in the capital city there are around 15 to 16 pulmonologists.

Among the hospitalizations currently being treated at the Covid hospital, there are all age groups, mainly those who have not received the third dose or booster dose.
