The cement company carried out this Friday the start of the process of technical commissioning for cement production in the short term. In this way, it shows that it is operational to start producing some 20 million bags of cement per year.

On the occasion, the president of the business group, Horace Cartes, received the first bag of cement during his visit to the plant located in San Lázaro, Concepción. Cartes was accompanied by the candidate for the Presidency of the Republic by Honor Colorado, Santiago Pena; the president of the cement factory, Joseph Ortizamong other references.

“This is a journey of anecdotes and details, an encyclopedia of everything that is here and I congratulate each one of those who made this work possible, which we are only now going to begin to know, a legacy for Paraguay that is going to leave us many satisfactions. The general manager of the company, Jorge Mendezmentioned at the same time that with the start-up of the entire circuit, the plant will have a capacity to produce 1 million tons (Tn) of cement per year, 20 million bags, with Paraguay demanding 1,700,000 Tn/year , of which 700,000 are being imported, so that with the start of production it will be possible to supply that need, stop importing and generate income for the treasury.
