ANDE presented the Master Investment Plan for the Paraguayan Chaco, where the total investment of approximately 1,300 million dollars is projected over a period of 10 to 20 years.
The investment includes the System of Electric Generation, Transmission and Distribution for the Western Region of the country.
The Director of Planning, Ing. Tito Ocariz, and engineers Oscar Torres, Víctor Paravicini and Gabriel Baum, from ANDE’s Planning Directorate, explained that the Generation Expansion Plan 2021-2040 projects the installation of 1,600 MW of photovoltaic power generation in the Chaco area, through an approximate investment of USD 2,200,000.

The photovoltaic solar plant in the town of Puerto Esperanza It has already been awarded and, therefore, it already has financing and construction is expected to begin this month.
On the other hand, it was revealed management status for the financing of the new 220 kV Villa Hayes – Villa Real – Pozo Colorado – Loma Plata transmission line, to be co-financed between kfW and Fonplata.
At this point, the ANDE pointed out that all the public consultations required by the aforementioned multilateral entities, where an investment of close to 126 million dollars is estimated for the aforementioned project, with the estimated signing of the loan contract at the end of this year.

In the Distribution area, ANDE has planned for the Western System (Chaco) in the short term, to invest USD 28.89 million to respond to vegetative growth, power grid expansionfeeder plan and other works, which represents 1,351 km of Medium Voltage lines, 286 km of Low Voltage, 25,000 kVA in distribution transformers and 2,960 Public Lighting.
In the medium term, it is planned to invest USD 15.14 million for the expansion of the electrical network, feeder plan and other works, which represents 814 km of Medium Voltage lines, 409 km of Low Voltage, 45,000 kVA in distribution transformers and 3,000 Public Lighting. The total investment for the Western System (Chaco) is USD 44.03 million.
