The last of the 146 people injured in the Serious fire occurred in the fuel storage area of Matanzas (Western Cuba) received a medical discharge last August, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported this Thursday.

The MINSAP report recalls that 129 people (122 men, seven women) were discharged after hospitalization due to injuries. About the last admitted, no details of identity, severity of injuries or the hospital where he was treated had emerged.
Those who died in the terrible event were 17, most of them firefighters killed on site or later as a result of injuries.
On August 5, a large fire broke out at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, when lightning struck one of the eight warehouses in the industrial park, according to Cuban authorities.
Over the days, the fire spread from the first tank to three other adjoining ones -50,000 cubic meters each-, causing strong explosions, with flames of several tens of meters.

The Cuban emergency teams, with technical and human support from Mexico and Venezuela, took a week to extinguish the flames.
Cuban authorities have not reported the economic and environmental cost of the fire.
