The Bameso club achieved it. The effort made bore fruit and last night he won the title of champion of the 46th Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District, which was played at the Palacio de los Deportes, Professor Virgilio Travieso Soto.
The Bamesians defeated Mauricio Báez’s team 81-66, in the seventh and last game of the final series, which was agreed to 7-4, and won the Banreservas Cup in the championship that was dedicated to Don César Cedeño.
Bameso, led by Yoel Féliz in his first opportunity at the head of the top team, under the presidency of the club in charge of Augusto Castro, reached its historic third district top basketball championship, after which it achieved consecutively in 2011 and 2012 .
For Féliz and Castro it is their first championship title as leader and president, respectively, of the capital’s top basketball competition.
Víctor Liz started the tournament and finished it like a warrior, imposing his quality and competitiveness, and yesterday he led the Bamesian offense with 20 points and six rebounds.
Liz’s dominant performance throughout the final round earned her the Most Valuable Player election of this series by obtaining a total of 38 votes out of a possible 42 from sports writers specializing in basketball, present this Thursday at the official venue of the event, the Sports Palace Professor Virgilio Travieso Soto.
Liz, a reinforcement from Santiago, was accompanied by the veteran player Edward Santana, who presented his best game of the fair with 19 points plus seven captured balls; Miguel Dicent contributed 17 and the North American reinforcement Trahson Burrel 14, seven catches and six assists.
For Mauricio Báez, Juan Miguel Suero stood out with 30 points, four rebounds and four assists, Brandone Francis 18 baskets, Gerardo Suero and Jonathan Araújo (seven rebounds) seven units each.
Liz’s situation
During the last period of the game, Liz suffered a serious fall, so at the end of the game it was necessary to take her to a health center in an ambulance to do the necessary tests.

The Banreservas Champion Cup was delivered by César Cedeño, to whom version 46 of the TBS DN 2022 was dedicated, a fair that was organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), chaired by Colonel (PN) Diego Pesqueira, and the organizing committee was headed by Eduardo Sanz Lovatón (Yayo), general director of Customs (DGA).
Cedeño was accompanied in the delivery by Pesqueira himself, on behalf of Abadina, and Fernando Teruel, general director of TBS DN 2022, who presented the Banreservas Cup to the president of the Bameso club, Augusto Castro, and the team leader Yoel Féliz, along with other directors of the champion club, players and members of the coaching staff.
