Justice dictates preventive detention against an adult detained for fire in INBA

The Seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago decreed preventive detention against the detained adult – along with five other minors – for the threat of fire registered in the Barros Arana National Boarding School (INBA).

This is a former student of the establishment, who was left with the precautionary preventive detention in the Santiago Uno Provisional Detention Center.

Another of the detainees -under 16 years old- was left in provisional hospitalization. This, after they found a backpack with gloves, overalls, and a banner that alluded to the demands they have made in the protests inside the establishment.

Likewise, the Central-North Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office requested the provisional internment for the remaining four minors. However, the court did not agree and left the other detainees with total house arrest and a monthly signature.

At the hearing, the Public Ministry confirmed the participation of the six detainees for the act, which was first described as a “fire threat”, but as the hours passed, it was confirmed that the crime was caused by fire.
