German striker Timo Werner will miss the World Cup in Qatar after the injury he suffered in his team’s last Champions League game, RB Leipzig, against Shachtar Donesk.
This was reported by Leipzig this Thursday after Werner’s diagnosis was known, who had to be replaced when just over twenty minutes of the first half had been played.
Werner suffered a broken syndesmosis in his left ankle that will keep him out of the court for the remainder of the year.
Werner’s presence in coach Hansi Flick’s squad was taken for granted.
