Tai had a virtual meeting with the new Mexican Secretary of the Economy, Raquel Buenrostro, and with the Undersecretary of Commerce, Alejandro Encinas Nájera, the US Commercial Representation said in a statement.
Both parties agreed on the importance of the trade relationship for both nations.
In Mexico, the Ministry of Economy announced the meeting on Twitter and added that working groups will be formed where dialogue will be privileged.

Almost a month after her arrival as head of the Ministry of Economy and in the midst of negotiations with the United States and Canada to resolve differences in energy matters within the framework of the T-MEC, Raquel Buenrostro has renewed the main officials related to the foreign trade in dependency.
The changes occur when Mexico is in the midst of the energy consultation process, initiated by the United States and supported by Canada within chapter 31 -controversy settlement- of the North American trade agreement.
If the issue is not resolved in this non-contentious process, it will be resolved by an international panel.
