Members of the poultry chainconcerned about the adverse impact generated by a Greater presence in the domestic market of whole chicken and imported pieces, delivered this Thursday a proclamation at the headquarters of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), addressed to Minister Fernando Mattos, where among other considerations they point out that “the release of poultry meat imports from Brazil is causing a devastating impact on the poultry chain“.

“The measure to remove the limits on the importation of whole chicken, and especially the one to enable the importation of cut-up chicken, imminent danger to the sector, because it deteriorates the competitiveness of the national industry”, is another of the considerations present in the document received by the Secretary of Mattos.
“With an entry into the market of the Brazilian supreme at values below the cost of production and internal marketing in Brazil (dumping), a path of significant job losses is in sight“, understand the local distributors.
The coordinator was born

In addition, he clarified, this massive entry of chicken supreme from Brazil did not translate into a lower price of the product for the consumer.
He added that it is on the horizon, if there are no short-term solutions, to convene a general assembly of operators in the sector to which they will invite the national and departmental authorities to consider this situation.
