1,300 families were affected by heavy rains in Trujillo

1,300 families were affected by the heavy rains in Trujillo state, reported Governor Gerardo Márquez. 172 of these families had total loss of their homes and another 101 were flooded.


1,300 families were affected by heavy rains in the state of Trujillo, reported the governor Gerardo Marquez.

The president indicated, this Thursday, November 3, in declarations to Radio Union, that 172 of these families had total loss of their homes and another 101 were flooded.

Márquez said that, after the emergency generated by the rainy in the entity, its government works in the care of families.

«We have delivered homes in the Boconó municipality, yesterday we moved 12 families to new decent homes that we have achieved through the Ministry of Housing. In the coming weeks we are going to deliver, according to a plan we have, every 15 days », he pointed out.

The Governor of Trujillo also reported that they aspire to deliver 105 houses, in the coming months, to those affected by the rains.

The entity’s roads have also been impacted by the rains of recent days. In Trujillo, 42 edge failures and 9 bridges washed away were recorded.

On Wednesday, November 2, a bridge fell that connected Valera with Agua Viva, an area through which vehicles travel to El Vigía and Zulia state. The governor pointed out that, since April, the region has been registering continuous rains.

The Government of Trujillo, in the midst of the contingency, has arranged 27 work fronts to serve the 19 municipalities affected. In that sense, Governor Márquez said that there are camps where the population has doctors, social development, firefighters, Civil Protection, and the ministries.
