The ceremony concluded with the interpretation of the National Anthem by the Republican Band.
Next, President Cortizo Cohen, special guests and his government team went to the Basilica Santa María La
Antigua for the Tedeum in commemoration of the 119th anniversary of the Separation of Panama from Colombia, a ceremony presided over by Monsignor José Domingo Ulloa, Archbishop of Panama, and the Ecumenical Committee of Panama.
The archbishop stated that the date is propitious to renew the commitment to a better Panama while highlighting the noble, peaceful nature and dialogue of the Panamanian people with which they have achieved momentous events such as independence from Spain in 1821, separation of Colombia in 1903, reconstruction of the country after the invasion of 1989, the recovery of the Canal in 1999 and its expansion.

After the tedeum, the President of the Republic and the State delegation attended the solemn session of the Municipal Council of Panama, in the Demetrio H. Brid Palace, in which the Act of Independence of the Separation of Panama from Colombia was read. .
The deputy mayor of the capital, Judy Meana, and councilor Ramón Ashby Chial, president of the Council, gave speeches highlighting the importance of the date. The session closed with the notes of the National Anthem, performed by the Republican Band.
Parades on November 3
To continue with the commemorative acts of the 119 years of Republican life, President Cortizo Cohen and Vice President Carrizo moved to the platforms located on Calle 50 and Avenida Balboa, respectively, to greet the student delegations, from state institutions, civic, and independent bands that will participate in the patriotic parades.
