The sale of new motor vehicles accumulates a high of 3.3% from January to October 2022 compared to the same period last year, points out the balance of the National Federation of Distribution of Motor Vehicles (Fenabrave). In the monthly comparison, there was growth of 14.8% in October compared to the same month of 2021. There was a decrease, however, of 5.51% in October compared to September.
The president of Fenabrave, Andreta Jr, points out that the retraction can be explained by a smaller number of working days in October (20). In September it was 21 days. “Most of the segments had similar numbers compared to the previous month in daily sales, which indicates that the recovery movement continues,” he said in a note.
The total volume of vehicles licensed in October was 316,819. In September, this number exceeded 335,000 units. In October 2021, around 275 thousand vehicles were traded. From January to October this year, the sum reaches 2,957,600. In the same period last year, there were approximately 2.8 million units.

In the automobile and light commercial segment, 168,474 units were sold in October. In September, there were just over 180 thousand, a drop of 6.62%. Year-to-date, from January to October, this group recorded a fall of 3.47%. About 1.56 million were registered, compared to 1.61 million in the same period last year.
Fenabrave also raised the number of electrified cars and light commercial vehicles. The registration of these models totaled 4,460 units in October. In the year, the total is 38,704 registrations. “This represents a result 43.6% higher than the accumulated in the same period of 2021, when about 27 thousand electrified vehicles were licensed”, highlighted the president.
The buses and trucks group, in turn, had 12,410 units registered. In the previous month, there were more than 13,500, a drop of 8.26%. Compared to October 2021, however, the result is better, with an increase of 1.19% in registrations. The comparison of the accumulated is less expressive, with a high of 0.04%. Just over 119,600 units were traded.
