The hydroelectric plant of Yacyretá In October, it reached its historical maximum for monthly energy production and contributed almost 2,000,000 Megawatts (MWh) to the Argentine interconnected system.based on a combination of factors such as the renewal of the generating park and a river flow consistent with its operation, the company reported.

The Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY), announced that in October it registered a monthly generation ceiling since the beginning of the commercial operation of the plant in September 1994.

Thus, it reached a net value of 2,054,657.5 MWh, supplying the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI) with 1,969,079 MWh and that of Paraguay with 85,587.7 MWh.

This mark of contribution to the Argentine system exceeds the record of March 2018when the plant installed in the Corrientes town of Ituzaingó produced 1,900,687 MWh.

As explained by the Entity, it is the “result of the strong investment made by the National Government for the modernization and rehabilitation of the Generating Park”.

Yacyretá, through the Strategic Program, aims to add value to the Central’s generating park, maintaining the original features of the equipment and sustaining the installed power as well as extending its useful life after 30 years of sustained generation.
