Hector Ventura, legislator of People’s Force and president of the Oversight Commission, asserted that Parliament should not grant the travel permit requested by President Pedro Castillo to participate in the APEC summit in Thailand.
“There is an article of the Constitution that says that the president personifies and represents the Nation, do you feel represented by the president? The performance of the president is a shame. The president should not go out to make a fool of himself outside of Peru, it is enough with what we have in Peru”, he told the media from Congress.
His statements came after President Castillo Terrones asked Congress this morning for permission to travel to Thailand to attend the meeting of leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) between November 14 and 21.
It should be noted that the request is given after the plenary session of Parliament denied him authorization to leave the country in order to carry out activities in Colombia and Europe.
The official letter, sent to José Williams as President of Parliament, indicates that the 29th meeting of economic leaders of the APEC Forum will take place in the city of Bangkok, between Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November.
Situation of Minister Huerta and Alejandro Sánchez
As for the Minister of the Interior, Willy Huerta, Ventura Ángel said that he will evaluate with his caucus to present a motion of interpellation or censure against him. While he also stated that they have unsuccessfully requested information on the status of the search for Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez, owner of the Sarratea house.
“We have asked the Minister of the Interior to locate Alejandro Sánchez, there is no information about this request, he is one of the leaders of the criminal organization, there are several hidden administrative vices, you have noticed that they intend to hide information or are colluding in acts of corruption”, said.
“We are going to assess this in the bench to see if we challenge it and then censor this is legal and constitutional,” he said.
