On the occasion of the christmas festivitiesDuring the entire month of December and until the first 15 days of January, Dominicans abroad will be able to bring items that do not exceed 4 thousand dollars free of import taxes.
The Director General of Customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatonspecified that for the first time the time for the traditional grace in favor of the diaspora will be extended.

To benefit from this facility, persons residing abroad, consignees of shipments, must present themselves to the corresponding customs administrations (collection offices) with their passport, purchase invoices, boarding pass and any other document that demonstrates that their entry into the country occurred within the period of christmas grace and who has not entered Dominican territory for more than six (6) months.
Only one grace per family will be applied and it does not include motor vehicles of any kind, firearms and those goods considered industrial or agricultural raw material, including fuels or their derivatives.
