The department of Santa Cruz dropped from a thousand positive cases of Covid-19, after registering almost a month of sustained increase, the manager of Epidemiology of the Departmental Health Service of the Santa Cruz Governorate, Carlos Hurtado, reported this Sunday.
“Today, January 16, there are 937 positive cases of Covid, after a long time we have less than a thousand cases per day again and that is good news thanks to all the sacrifice that the population is making, complying with all the restriction measures arranged. by the Departmental Emergency Operations Committee (COED) and with all the strategies for containment and control of the disease from the governorate, through Headquarters, with mass vaccination, medical care,” Hurtado said at a press conference.

According to the Covid situation report in the Santa Cruz region, this Sunday 6,143 people recovered and four died. In the case of vaccination, more than 1.5 million inhabitants have been accumulated with the first dose, that is, 52% of the population, and more than 1.1 million with the second dose, which means 38%.
Since last December 20, the department of Santa Cruz has been registering more than 1,000 daily cases until reaching a daily peak of more than 6,200 infections, registered on January 5, the highest peak in this fourth wave of the coronavirus, then it was on the decline.
