Nicaraguans return en masse to cemeteries for the Day of the Dead

Thousands of families returned en masse to Nicaraguan cemeteries this Wednesday on the occasion of the Day of the Dead, after spending more than two years partially away in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mourners flocked to cemeteries as they had not since November 2, 2019, four months before the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 was detected in Nicaragua.

Flowers, prayers and the work of cleaning the tombs by relatives predominated in different cemeteries in the Central American country, according to EFE.
