For having scored the most goals away from home, by this tiebreaker criterion, Benfica qualified as leader of the group. PSG and the Portuguese team were equal in points won in the group, points played against each other, goal difference, goals for, and goals against.

Both PSG and Benfica added 14 points in four wins, two draws, with 16 goals for and seven against. Both in the first leg and in the second leg of the group stage they tied 1-1, but the Portuguese team was stronger on the road against Juventus and Maccabi Haifa.

These are the cTie-break criteria in the Champions League group stage:

1- Points in the matches between the tied teams.

2- Goal difference in the matches between the tied teams.

3- Greater number of goals in favor in the matches between the tied teams.

4- Best goal average in group matches.

5- Greater number of goals scored in group matches.

6- Greater number of goals scored away from home in group matches.

7- Greater number of victories in the group.

8- Greater number of victories as a visitor in the group.

9- Lowest score of cards: the red ones count 3 points, the yellow ones 1 and the expulsion for double yellow 3 (not 1+1+3, but only 3).

10- Best UEFA coefficient.

The sixth point was the one that benefited Benfica, as they scored eight goals in their visits to Turin, Paris and Haifa, while PSG could only celebrate six goals in their visits.

In the last group date, Paris SG, won 2-1 this Wednesday in their visit to Juventus in Turin, a victory that did not serve to finish first in group H, an honor that went to Benfica.

The French team achieved victory thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappé (minute 13) and Nuno Mendes (69), while Leonardo Bonucci (39) scored for the Piedmontese team, which will compete in the round of 32 of the Europa League by finishing in third place. The first place in the group was spotted by Benfica, who reversed the goal difference that separated them from PSG by comfortably beating Maccabi Haifa (6-1).
