The president of the Republic, peter castleasked permission to Congress of the republic to travel to the 29th meeting of leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum between November 14 and 21 this year.
The request formally entered the Legislative Branch this Wednesday, November 2, and bears the signatures of President Pedro Castillo and the head of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres.
The official letter, sent to José Williams as President of Parliament, indicates that the 29th meeting of economic leaders of the APEC Forum will be held in the city of Bangkok, in the Kingdom of Thailand, between Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November.
The term from 14 to 21 includes round trip air travel times between Lima and Bangkok and also that on November 17 the president’s participation in the APEC Business Summit and meetings with businessmen from both regions have been scheduled.

About the central event, the Executive informs that leaders of 21 economies of the forum will address the main challenges of Asia-Pacific such as the global economic recession, problems in supply chains, food and energy security, among others.
“The participation of the Peruvian government at the highest level in these international meetings will allow our country to consolidate its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and in its economic integration mechanisms. All this will also contribute to the preparation process for the presidency of Peru APEC 2024″details the Government.
