Argentine tennis player Francisco Cerúndolo will face this Tuesday Canadian Denis Shapovalov for the opening round of the Masters 1000 in Paris, the last tournament of the regular calendar of the circuit that has as favorites the Spaniards Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal, and the Serbian Novak Djokovic, defender of the title.
Cerúndolo, ranked 30th in the ATP world ranking, will play no earlier than 11:30 (Argentina time) against Shapovalov (16), in a match that will be televised by ESPN and the Star + platform.
In the case of advancing to the second round, Cerúndolo, champion this year at the Swedish ATP in Bastad, will meet a Spaniard: Pablo Carreño Busta (15) or Albert Ramos (40), who will previously play from 9.

The event is played at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy in the French capital, on fast surfaces and indoorsand will distribute prizes for 5,415,410 euros, being the closing of the season before the Masters that will bring together the eight best rackets of 2022 in Turin, Italy, starting on November 8.
The other two Argentine tennis players who took part in the tournament, Diego Schwartzman and Sebastián Báez, were eliminated this Monday in the initial round.
The “Little” Schwartzman (24) lost to the American of French origin Maxime Cressy (34) 6-3 and 6-3, while Báez (40) fell to the Russian Karen Khachanov (19) 6-1 and 6 -1.
The favorites to win the tournament are the Spanish Alcaraz (1) and Nadal (two), plus Serbian Djokovic (7), champion in Paris in the 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2021 editions.
The only Argentine tennis player who lifted the trophy in Paris was David Nalbandian from Unquillo from Cordoba in the 2007 edition after winning the final over “Rafa” Nadal 6-4, 6-0.
