Councilors from San Matías and the civic members of that municipality, Edgar Pereira and Evelín Del Águila, arrived with food to reinforce the common pot at the “key” blocking point of the bridge that connects San Matías with San Ignacio de Velasco, where a permanent vigil is carried out.
The blockade in San Matías, at the height of the bridge, remains firm
Yesterday, at that point, two buses were held up until midnight, from today none of the transport companies tried again to travel to Santa Cruz for that section. From San Matías they send a message to the Government: “We are not tired, neither the rain nor the heat is going to break the spirit of the struggle in the provinces.”
As in almost the entire region, torrential rains were recorded from the early hours of the morning, and at night the temperature dropped 10 degrees at the entrance to the Bolivian Pantanal.
shortage
In the municipal market of San Matías there is a food shortage and some fruits and vegetables are already becoming scarce, while legumes and other fruits are arriving from Brazil at a very high price, as announced by Raymundo Carvalho, executive of the Federation of Unions.
