The Government of President Nicolás Maduro, through a statement, spoke to greet the electoral victory of Luiz Inácio ‘Lula’ da Silva as president of Brazil, this Sunday, October 30.
This was reported by Foreign Minister Carlos Faría, through his Twitter account, in which he published “With satisfaction we congratulate on behalf of the Venezuelan people and President. @NicolasMaduro to the partner @LulaOfficial, for his victory today, being elected as Pdte. from Brazil. A triumph that is also of the popular struggles in Latin America!
In the document, Venezuela congratulates the people of Brazil for the “demonstration of civility and democratic participation in the historic election day.”
Likewise, it offers its greatest disposition and good will to jointly strengthen the ties of friendship between both peoples, in addition to renewing the binational cooperation agenda.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulates the people of Brazil for the demonstration of civility and democratic participation in the historic presidential election day, held this Sunday, October 30, 2022, in which Comrade Luiz was elected as President of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Inácio Lula Da Silva for the period 2023 – 2027.
The Bolivarian People and Government, in light of Comrade Lula’s victory, granted by a large popular majority, wish him great success in the project of giving the greatest amount of happiness to Brazil and returning to that heroic people its history of dignity and great country, being an example for the world of development and prosperity.
With the Latin Americanist affection that has always united us, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela offers the best disposition and good will to together strengthen the bonds of friendship between our peoples and renew our firm commitment in favor of a Binational cooperation agenda in favor of our countries and the Great Homeland.

Elections
The candidate Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won this sunday the presidential elections in Brazil, after prevailing in the second round against Jair Bolsonaro, who aspired to re-election.
With 98.81% of total votes, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal declared him the winner with 50.83%, represented in 59,563,912 votes, while Bolsonaro 49.17% translated into 57,627,462 votes.
Both presidential candidates disputed this Sunday the second round, failing to obtain more than half of the necessary valid votes (excluding blank and invalid) in the first election, as established by Brazilian legislation.
