The Archdiocese of Caracas installed three collection centers for those affected by the rains.
According to the information provided by Monsignor Lisandro Rivas, Auxiliary Bishop of Caracas, these centers seek to benefit those affected by the intense rains in the popular sectors of January 23 and La Vega.
As reported Radio Unionthis Sunday, October 30, the Church seeks to be in solidarity after the emergency situation that has left more than 100 affected families in the west of the city, in La Ladera and in the upper part of La Vega, who lost their homes and material goods.
“We have decided on three places of solidarity in our Archdiocese. A first place of solidarity is in the area of El Paraíso, a second place is the Parish of the Good Shepherd in Bello Campo and a third place is the Annunciation of the Lord, in La Boyera”, said Monsignor Lisandro Rivas.
The schedule for receiving supplies from those affected by the heavy rains of the last month, in these collection centers, is from 9:00 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon.
On Saturday, October 29, the Auxiliary Bishop of Caracas visited the La Ladera sector, in the Mirador del 23 de Eneri, where several families lost their homes after heavy rainfall in the city. There the prelate spoke with those affected and with government authorities.
