Dams have 88.3% more water than in June

The intense rains of recent weeks increased the availability of water in the dams for agricultural use by 60,833 cubic hectometers (each hectometer is equivalent to one billion liters), 88.3 percent more than in June, when conditions prevailed. drought, according to the Agrifood and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP).

According to the SIAP, while as of June 30 the water levels in the irrigation dams were 32,293 cubic hectometres, by September 30 they recovered to 60,833 cubic hectometres.

Of the dams, 121 are above 50 percent; 11 between 20 and 50 percent, and six with levels below 20 percent of their capacity.

The dams with the most liquid are Luis Laureano León, Chihuahua and La Calera, Guerrero, both with 100 percent, while Cuauhtémoc, Sonora and Copándaro, Michoacán have the lowest percentages with less than 15.
