On Monday, several communities will be left without the supply of drinking water

The National Aqueduct and Sewer Institute (IDAAN) announces that on Monday, October 31, the Jaime Díaz Quintero water treatment plant will suspend operations due to urgent cleaning work in the collection well of pump #1 and #2 of the raw water intake.

The work will be carried out from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will affect the water service with low pressure in the Corregimiento of Barrio Colón center and lack of supply in the Corregimientos of Guadalupe, El Coco and Playa Leona, West Coast neighborhoods, West Coast Villas, Residencial Don Juan and surroundings, as well as Jardines de Mastranto, Lomas de Mastranto in the district of La Chorrera, in turn the Corregimiento Juan Demóstenes Arosemena and part of Vista Alegre in the district of Arraiján.

They also announced that preventive work will be carried out at the Chame water treatment plant.

The tasks that consist of washing settlers and flocculators from the new and old plants and maintenance of pump #1 in the raw water intake, will be carried out from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and will affect the temporary water supply in: Coronado, Gorgona, Bejuco, Chame, Punta Barco Nuevo and Viejo, Pueblo Nuevo, El Níspero and El Celaje.

The institution recommended taking the necessary measures to avoid shortages during the time the works last and the system recovers.
