In the last few hours, the resignation of the mayor of La Floresta, a municipality in the department of Canelones, who is accused of allegedly harassing female officials at work, was revealed.
The now former mayor, Néstor Erramouspe, was denounced before the Justice weeks ago for the lack of 38 tons of food that, originally, were destined for popular pots and picnic areas. Also, he is accused of alleged labor and gender harassment of municipal officials.
Erramouspe, a member of the Communist Party, decided to leave office, which for the Canarian mayor, Yamandú Orsi, was “a brave decision”, despite the accusations against him and the administrative investigations.
“It was a very brave decision because he does not agree with the statements, he does not share exactly what the officials say,” Orsi said in statements given to the program up people.
