The Minister of Labor, Beatriz ‘Kelly’ Kismer de Olmos, gave her opinion this Saturday in favor of carrying out the primary, open, simultaneous and mandatory elections (PASO) because “the Front of All has to choose its candidate based on internal democracy” and also considered that “it is a good alternative” to reduce the term between the primary elections and the general elections in October.
“The Everyone’s Front must develop its electoral strategy for next year based on internal democracy, with the PASOs, and achieve greater vigor,” the Labor Minister told AM750 radio.
In this sense, he reiterated that “the Front of All has to choose its candidate based on internal democracy”, thus joining the leaders of the FdT who endorse the holding of open primaries against others who request that it be suspended.
In this regard, Kelly Olmos pointed out that “reducing the period between the PASOs and the general (elections), as Máximo Kirchner proposed, is a good alternative,” and added: “I think that with the PASOs we strengthen the internal election.”
The leader of Buenos Aires Peronism defined herself as “an obsessive militant of unity” and maintained that “all shades of Peronism must be included” because, she said, “in the unity of all the sectors (of the PJ) lies the opportunity that we can build the society we want.
Regarding a possible candidacy for re-election by the President, he replied: “It seems legitimate to me that Alberto Fernández wants to present himself and be one of the options”.
On the other hand, he expressed his disagreement with any relaxation of labor laws through a comprehensive labor reform by emphasizing that “another general regulatory framework is not necessary.”
At that point, he assured that the negotiations that are carried out within the framework of the collective agreements in force in each activity are generating “changes” that allow “agreements that are productive for the workers, in (regarding) winning rights, and so that the entrepreneurs also gain in greater productivity”.
Regarding the salary negotiations that are underway, the head of the labor portfolio said that “the joint mechanism is working vigorously” and confirmed that this instrument is currently the one chosen by the national government.
When referring to a possible bonus or lump sumas Kirchnerism and sectors of the labor movement such as the CTA, the Trade Union Front for the National Model (Fresimona) and the Federal Workers’ Current (CFT) demand, Kelly Olmos stated that “different mechanisms are being worked on and no instrument” since -he said- “the equal increases do not serve informal workers, for example”.
“The results of the latest joint negotiations have been satisfactory”finally evaluated the minister, who in any case added: “If necessary, other instruments will be used.”
