After a few heated weeks due to the thousands of people who demonstrated against the Educational Transformation that the Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEC) intends to incorporate, finally the President of the Republic gave his position on the subject.
Mario Abdo Benítez indicated that he will defend “that gender ideology is not incorporated into the Educational Transformation process, nor in any document, nor in any curriculum. I am going to defend life and the family », were his words on the television program “La Lupa”.
He also maintained that he was going to give the Paraguayan people a guarantee that while he is president, he will defend the values to which he committed himself in the campaign.
ELECTORAL CONTEXT
In that sense, he pointed out that there are actors who legitimately mobilize against, whom he congratulates, because he claims the mobilization, just as he mobilized against the amendment. However, Abdo also believes that some are taking advantage of the electoral context, especially Chartism.
“The more the Paraguayan citizen gets involved in public issues, we will have a better democracy,” stressed the president.
