Long holiday would generate an impact of US$ 106 million in the tourism sector, estimates Mincetur

Around 980,000 people would be mobilized in the country during the long holiday (October 29 to November 1), generating an economic impact of US$106 million, estimated the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez.

The minister indicated that tourism in our country is fundamental for the reactivation of the sector, since it generates jobs and stimulates the economy.

For these dates, the average cost per person would be S / 430, with an average stay of three nights, Mincetur pointed out.

What are the regions that they will visit the most?

The General Directorate of Research and Studies on Tourism and Crafts of Mincetur carried out a study in which the following is indicated: 67.5% of those surveyed would travel to regions other than those of their origin and 32.5% would make visits within their own region.

The busiest regions would be Lima (15.6%), Piura (12.5%), Junín (11.0%), Ayacucho (8.5%), Cajamarca (7.9%), Huánuco (7.0%), San Martín (5.7%), Arequipa ( 5.7%), Lambayeque (5.3%), Ica (5.0%), Áncash (4.8%), among others.

Regarding the characteristics of the trip, the respondents specified that the main reasons would be to visit their relatives or friends (50.7%) and for vacations (39.6%).

Among the people who would travel for vacations, the majority referred as outstanding factors, a good climate (38.7%), tourist attractions (30.2%) and proximity (23.5%).

Regarding the travel group, 37.6% would travel as a couple, 22.3% in a direct family group, 20.3% alone, 15.8% with friends or relatives without children, and 4% with friends or relatives with children.

In the case of the means of transport, 64% indicated that they would use the interprovincial bus, 11% private mobility of a family member or friend, 9.6% own vehicle, 7.3% minivan or tourist agency bus, 7.2% by plane and 0.9% other transportation.

What will be the type of accommodation?

Regarding the type of accommodation, the most used would be staying in the house of relatives and/or friends (52.8%), followed by a 1 or 2-star hotel (23.9%), a hostel (8.1%), a 3-star hotel ( 6.5%), own house (3.9%), paid lodging house (2.5%), among others (2.3%).

On the other hand, in the case of travel modality, 93.1% would do it on their own, 6.4% with a tourist package from an agency and 0.5% would buy a tour.
