From today (29) to November 6, the Heliópolis Unified Educational Center (CEU) and community streets will host the 4th Heliópolis Theater Show. The activities, which are free, are also held at Casa de Teatro Mariajosé de Carvalho (in Ipiranga).
The event features artists and peripheral groups, active in popular communities or peripheries of the state of São Paulo. The program comprises 14 theater sessions (adults, children and street theater) and two training workshops. Transport to the venue is included in the event.
The show is conceived and organized by Companhia de Teatro Heliópolis and MUK Produções and aims to strengthen, stimulate and disseminate the artistic creation of groups and artists working in popular communities. In addition, it aims to provide opportunities and visibility for the peripheral theater scene.
The program includes presentations by groups and collectives at the headquarters of the Heliópolis Theater Company, Casa de Teatro Mariajosé de Carvalho. This Saturday, the Daughters of Dita perform, with Song of Saids; tomorrow (30), it will be the turn of TUOV – Teatro Popular União and Olho Vivo, with Good Retreat My Love. On Thursday (3), Éssa Compania de Teatro stages the Rehearsal for Two Lost; the following day, Núcleo Abre Caminhos shows Kuami, Paths to Identity. On the 5th, it’s the turn of Tô em Outra Cia de Teatro, with Paper War – An Urban Tragedy; and on the 6th, A Próxima Companhia presents War. All sessions will be followed by conversation circles with the audience.
At CEU Heliópolis there will be children’s and circus shows, such as Grupo Manjarra / Mundu Rodá (29) and Impacto Agasias (31), which also take over several streets in the neighborhood with: Painé Santamaria (29); Dread and Disgrace (1st); Puppet Cyclists and Co. Pink wood (2); Clown Curtiça (4); Cia Pé no Asfalto (5); and ApanelA Theater Group (6).
