Beverages stand out in the growth of industrial production

The actual production of manufacturing industry It increased 13.9% in November, according to the report delivered yesterday by Dane, compared to the same month of 2020.

For its part, actual sales increased 14.2% and employed personnel registered a variation of 5.2%.

By activities, the monthly survey of the statistics entity indicates that the preparation of drinks showed an annual variation of 12.5% ​​in real production, thus being the industrial activity with the greatest positive contribution (1.7 pp) to the total national variation in that month.

For its part, with an annual variation of -4.5%, the manufacture of soaps and detergents, perfumes and toilet preparations presented the greatest negative contribution (-0.3 pp).
In relation to the employed personnel, garment manufacturing was the one with the greatest contribution with 1.0 pp to the annual total for November 2021 (5.2%) and had a variation of 11.9%.

The second largest contribution went to Meat processing and preservation, fish, crustaceans and molluscs, with 0.4 pp and an annual variation of 7.3%.
By cities, Bogotá showed the greatest positive contribution to the total annual result of production, sales and employed personnel in October 2021 compared to the same period in 2020. In real production, it presented a variation of 19.8% and contributed 2.9 pp to the total variation.

In sales, it registered a variation of 16.9%, contributing 2.5 pp, while with respect to employed personnel, the capital presented a variation of 5.5% and a contribution of 1.3 pp

The production of beverages, the manufacture of clothing and the manufacture of paper and cardboard, which contributed the most to production.

From the biennial perspective, which compares November 2021 with the same month in 2019, the real production of the manufacturing industry had a variation of 13.6% and real sales of 12.6%. In contrast, employed personnel fell 1.2%.

The Dane also indicated that for the year to date (January-November 2021), in the national total, the real production of the industry increased 16.1%, real sales had a variation of 16.0% and employed personnel of 2.5% compared to the same period in 2020.

For its part, in the last 12 months to November 2021, the real production of the manufacturing industry had a variation of 14.8%, real sales of 14.2% and employed personnel of 1.9%.

TRADE GREW 7.4%

The Dane also reported in its monthly survey that the retail and vehicle trade presented a variation of 7.4% in its real sales in November 2021 compared to the same month in 2020. Without the sale of fuel and vehicles, this annual variation was at 2.7%. Employed personnel grew 1.6% in November 2021.

Sales made through electronic commerce decreased 30.3% in the penultimate month of 2021 compared to the same in 2020. In the accumulated of the first 11 months of the year under analysis, the increase in sales was 18.2%.
