Brazilians are getting ready to go to the polls this Sunday (30th) and choose who will lead, for the next four years, the Federal Executive and the governments of 12 states. In order to guarantee the most important tool of democracy – the vote -, the Electoral Justice prepared an electoral calendar detailing a series of deadlines and rules that need to be observed by candidates and voters in this final stretch of the 2022 Elections.
Since dawn today (28), rallies have been banned. Today is also the last day for broadcasting electoral propaganda on radio and television, as well as propaganda in the written press and reproduction of material on the internet.
It is also the last day for the debate on radios and TVs. Voters cannot be arrested or detained, except in cases of flagrante delicto or by virtue of a criminal conviction for a non-bailable crime.
People who impede the right of voters to move freely may also be arrested. The two measures are valid until 48 hours after the election of next Sunday (30).
Tomorrow (29), the eve of the second round, will be the last day to broadcast electoral propaganda made through loudspeakers, sound amplifiers, distribution of pamphlets, walks, motorcades or marches. On the same day, the polling stations that will be submitted to electronic voting audits will be defined.

Voting starts at 8 am and ends at 5 pm, Brasília time. Unlike what happened in past elections, in this election, the voting schedule will be uniform across the country. In other words, regions where there is a different time zone will follow Brasília time.
With a reliable and secure electronic electoral system, Brazil will start counting as soon as the elections end on Sunday, and the expectation is to know the result in a few hours.
