They warn about a new type of virtual scam

Estafa informática

Interpol warns that a form of deception has been detected according to which scammers send emails pretending to be from the institution and communicating that they have been prosecuted for crimes such as child pornography, among others, allegedly after making a computer seizure.

Through this modality, criminals obtain personal data such as contact lists of the victims, accounts and bank cards along with other information from which they then carry out various scams and extortions.

This modality is known worldwide as Phishing and consists precisely in sending emails posing as official institutions.

Interpol informed the population that it does not use informal means to carry out communications and recommended not accessing unknown links, nor downloading attachments in emails whose sender is unknown. In addition, it calls for any doubts to verify the information received.
