In December alone, unemployment withdrawals totaled 1,985 million pesos, the highest monthly figure since October 2020, when 2,095 million pesos were withdrawn.
Afore Coppel, Azteca and XXI Banorte were the three administrators with the highest number of withdrawals throughout the year. Coppel registered the exit of 4,742 million pesos, Azteca 3,981 million pesos and Afore XXI Banorte 3,770 million pesos.
Who can make unemployment withdrawals?
Those people who at some point in their working life were registered with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and who contributed for at least three years can make this request.
The requirements to be able to make the withdrawal are to have more than 46 days without work, to have the updated biometric file and not to have made this withdrawal in five years.
Those who have withdrawn money from their account will be deducted weeks of contributions that are necessary to retire upon reaching 60 years of age.
