Christmas: mypes will sacrifice costs to keep customers during the campaign

Just two months from , many micro and small businesses (mypes) are getting ready for these parties, although there are some concerns. According to a Mibanco study, 87% of mypes, that is, nine out of 10, consider that the price increase will affect their business during the campaign.

The situation worsens in the east of the country, where 94% of microentrepreneurs anticipate that they will suffer from inflation.

When asked what they will do in the face of price increases, 50% say it will reduce their profit margins.

The Deputy General Manager of Business Management of Mibanco, Luis Almodozstated that what half of the merchants are looking for is that their costs are not transferred to the clients so that the volume of sales does not fall.

“They are going to sacrifice their costs in order to maintain the loyalty of their clients or increase their sales,” he added.

On the other hand, the study of the financial entity reveals that seven out of 10 mypes expect to have better sales for parties.

“We expect a growth in sales of no less than 15% this year,” said the Mibanco representative, adding that this result opens the door to think that the 2023 school campaign will also be positive.

Data

-More than half of microentrepreneurs consider that their family economic situation is the same, a little or much worse than 12 months ago.

-Four out of 10 mypes indicate that financing conditions have improved in the last three months.
