The man, of Brazilian nationality, handled various computer equipment supposedly to capture, reproduce and irregularly broadcast signals from television and radio channels, which were then distributed to third parties from a luxurious residence at the Paraná Country Club.
Prosecutor Fernando Galeano opened criminal proceedings against Adriano Mattje Lopes, a native of the city of Foz de Yguazú, state of Paraná (Brazil), who could not be located, for the alleged punishable acts of violation of copyright, related rights and clandestine use of a benefit.

According to the investigation, on June 29, a fiscal and police delegation carried out a raid on the house rented by the foreigner. The procedure was executed by means of a judicial order, after a complaint filed by the lawyers Javier Otazú and Enrique Rivarola, on behalf of the firm “Telesports Paraguay SA”.

Likewise, documentation was seized that presumably supports the irregular marketing of different audio visual channels, such as HBO, Family, HBO Signature, TNT, Paramount, ISAC, Discovery, Cartoon Network, Espn, Fox, Disney, offered to third parties, including those belonging to the firm Tigo and others, such as cable distribution, without having a license for this purpose.

According to the indictment, Adriano Mattje carried out this activity outside the law from the residence he occupied in the exclusive gated community, thus violating the rights of the author and related rights, which are protected in the Penal Code.

The facts were corroborated again at the time of substantiation of the jurisdictional advance of evidence, carried out on October 17, 2022, in the Criminal Court of Guarantees.
When considering the diverse elements of suspicion, the public prosecutor Fernando Galeano formulated the imputation and requested the preventive detention of Mattje Lopes, once he is deprived of liberty.
