At a press conference before the media, the Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, responded on several issues, including the reality of the case of the former chief of custody, Alejandro Astesiano, and supported the authorities of the National Police Directorate, they are being investigated for possible links to the cause.
“We support the Prosecutor’s Office; our predisposition is to help her, but preserving the presumption of innocence of the leaders,” Heber said.
Regarding whether facts of these characteristics harm his image as a minister, Heber pointed out: “Are they guilty? They are not guilty. When they are guilty, action will be taken.”
For his part, the Secretary of State also responded to the statements of the senator from Cabildo Abierto Guido Manini Ríos, who said that if he was a minister he would have separated the hierarchs from the position. “They are trusted personnel; not career officials. If trust is lost, the position is lost. Trust is lost when guilt is proven,” Heber said.
