Banco Basa announced its support for the Unified National Games of Special Olympics

This Thursday, October 20, at 10:00, Quimfa delivered 1,500 ampoules of the drug Mesna to the National Cancer Institute (INCAN), for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The initiative is part of the social responsibility of Quimfa Laboratory as a national company.

The donation was received by the Director of INCAN, Dr. Julio Rolón, and by the Director of Specialized Hospitals of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Vicente Ruíz.

The delivery was in charge of Quimfa representatives such as the marketing manager Viviana Jara, the QF technical director Laura Ramírez and the person in charge of the bidding area Óscar Medina.

The event took place in the auditorium hall of the INCAN, located in the Ramal Areguá – Capiatá.

Its about first batch of drugs manufactured for the first time by the Quimfa laboratory in Paraguay, whose development began on September 29 and the first installment took place on the date.

INCAN received the donation of 1,500 MESNA units manufactured by Quimfa Laboratory.

It is important to remember that it is a medicine that was not produced in the country and stopped being imported. It belongs to the class called cytoprotectors, whose function is to avoid the side effects of chemotherapy.

The Quimfa laboratory has the capacity to supply the local market. The development of the drug was carried out under strict quality and safety control standards that guarantee the full effectiveness of the products.

Mesna 400mg/4ml – Quimfa, is an injectable solution in ampoule indicated for the prevention of urothelial toxicity including hemorrhagic cystitis, microhematuria and macrohematuria in patients treated with oxazaphosphorines (ifosfamide, cyclophosphamide, trofosfamide) in doses that are considered urotoxic.

In record time

Dr. Vicente Ruíz highlighted the production in record time carried out by the Quimfa Laboratory to make available to INCAN the extremely important drug for cancer patients.

The director of INCAN, Julio Rolón, for his part, thanked the national company for its contribution, since the planned donation at first was 1,000 units, but 500 more units were added, meeting the high demand for such inputs.
