A total of 41,468 users of the Edesur and Edenor companies were without electricity supply at 2:00 p.m. in different neighborhoods of the city of Buenos Aires and towns in the Buenos Aires suburbs, although in the northern area there was a fall during the morning that affected 150 thousand customers.
After 1 pm, according to statistics from the distributor Compañía Administradora del Mercado Mayorista Eléctrico (Cammesa), a new consumption record was reached, exceeding 27,550 on Thursday.
Cammesa detected at that time that the electricity demand to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI) reached 27,944 MW, which becomes a new consumption record throughout the country.
According to the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE), at 2:00 p.m. some 36,659 users of the Edesur concession area remained without electricity in the neighborhoods of Flores, Mataderos, La Paternal and Parque Patricios, and towns in the southern suburbs such as Avellaneda, Lanús, Presidente Perón, Esteban Echeverría and Lomas de Zamora, among others, due to interruptions in the medium or low voltage service.
In the case of the Edenor area, users without electricity reached 4,809 in the Buenos Aires districts of Tres de Febrero, La Matanza, Merlo, Tigre, Hurlingham, Moreno, Escobar and Pilar, among others.
However, the company confirmed that early this morning there was a problem at the Edison substation, which affected the service of 150,000 customers, and a little more than an hour ago it could be restored.
