IDAAN will carry out work to maintain the supply of drinking water in Isla Colón

The Institute of National Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN), reported on the morning of this Wednesday, October 26, that due to the low levels of Lake Big Creek, the water treatment plant of Isla Colón, province of Bocas del Toro, has reduced its production by 50%.

Víctor Serrano, regional director of the entity indicated that together with the electromechanical staff they have evaluated the current situation, taking into consideration the records presented by the uptake compared to recent years.

Adjustments will be made between the hours of 6:00 am to 7:00 am and from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, to maintain the drinking water service.

The areas affected by these works will be:

  • Isla Colon center
  • Saigon
  • The fair
  • The solution
  • Loma Espino
  • The Ye
  • Play Bloff
  • Carenero Island
  • Big Creek

They recommend that the population take the necessary measures to avoid shortages until the system balances and the rains arrive to increase the flow of the lake.
