The fugitives who magically vanished

El Caribe

Alexis Villalona is the fugitive of the moment. However, he is not the first to have escaped from the National Police.

The most emblematic has been Pedro Alejandro Castillo Paniagua, alias “Quirinito”, who in July 2017 faked his death to escape from house arrest in San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte province, after a court varied the measure of coercion for an alleged cancer he suffered from.

Later, a medical examiner certified that the inmate’s death was caused by an acute myocardial infarction, the result of a cancer of the squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue. However, the Attorney General’s Office assured that there was “sufficient evidence” to establish that Castillo Paniagua was alive. His “corpse” never appeared.

“Quirinito” had been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of the Spaniard Gustavo Cervantes (Waikikí).

The earth swallowed him

Another who has mocked the authorities is Alexander Sánchez, who on December 17, 2017 murdered his ex-partner Yareimy Féliz in the La Yuca sector, National District.

Alexander Sánchez would have invited Yareimi to his house to allegedly discuss details of their separation and the maintenance of their daughter; But once she was there, he turned up the radio so that the young woman’s cries for help would not be heard as he strangled her.

Coldly and after committing the act, Alexander began to play basketball with his neighbors (according to them) as if nothing had happened. Later, he would leave the field with an unknown whereabouts and this is the time that no one has seen him again, nor have the authorities referred to this case.

Relatives of the victim have claimed to have seen him walking in the neighborhood with total impunity.

The most sought

Alexis Villalona has been a fugitive from justice for two weeks, despite the fact that the National Police had reported that that institution was joining forces to locate and arrest him.

Villalona, through his lawyer, had said that he would surrender under the condition that he was not admitted to the prison with a seat in Baní since his life would be in danger of being taken to that prison, since there is a person with whom he allegedly had a prison. problems.

However, so far there have been no news regarding its possible delivery.

The entrance The fugitives who magically vanished was first published in El Caribe newspaper.
